It brings a smile to my face when someone asks that question. That is because I said the same thing a few years ago when I joined my first cycling club. I always want to launch into all the features & benefits joining a club will bring to their lives.
The bottom line is you need to look at what your specific needs are. Whether it's the camaraderie or the opportunity to train with someone at your level.
Cycling is a very personal sport. Some individuals prefer to ride by themselves at their own pace. On the other hand, others have discovered a new perspective that comes when riding with a group on a casual ride or a fast paced Tuesday night ride.
Ask yourself what you want out of a club, then come out and help make it happen. We plan to spice up the program this year with a Club Sponsored Century in OCT 07, online memberships, new interactive website, and new routes. So come out Monday to Fuddruckers at 7:30pm and see What's In It for Me. Maybe you'll be surprised and want to help make it happen.
