CGC "Picnic" Meeting & Ride Dec. 17
Central Georgia Cyclist will hold our next meeting Dec. 17 from 1p-6p at Middle Georgia Technical College's 'Event Pavilion'. Nope, it won't take 5 hours to cover topics and discuss upcoming business so here is what we're planning for you:
- A Social Ride begins from MGTC at 1pm and will cover roughly 30-40 miles with ride leaders.
-->I will be posting the route and also handing out a map and queue sheet with bail-outs marked on the map before the ride.
- The ride should conclude around 4pm or earlier back at MGTC ~ restrooms are available for changing clothes before and after the ride.
- A meal of lasagna (meat and vegetarian), salad, bread, desserts, sweet & un-sweet tea, and water will be provided. If you have a favorite beverage please bring it. I hope to start serving the meal at 4pm.
- The meeting portion will only take about 15-20 minutes to update members and discuss events already planned for 2007. I'll have handouts available covering topics in detail.
- We will also be awarding a $20 gift certificate to the person that comes up with the winning name for our October 2007 metric century!! I'm extending the deadline for sending in your entry until Dec. 10. Please send your entry to me at my e-mail below. All entries will be reviewed by the CGC Board of Directors and a winning name selected.
Note: If it is raining, please plan on attending the meeting and eating with us.
I do ask that you RSVP before 5pm Dec. 15 so we can plan the food accordingly. I've guesstimated from past meetings that 40 may be our max attendance but more is fantastic. I'll be posting directions to MGTC's pavilion as well as the route by Friday December 1st.
Directions: MGTC is located south of Hwy96 and west of Houston Lake Rd. at 80 Cohen Walker Drive, Warner Robins. You can enter MGTC at the main entrance on Cohen Walker Dr., turn left at the first entrance going between the parking lots, and travel parallel to the buildings (south) until you see the event pavilion, my white F-150, or all the other vehicles. The west entrance at Sutherlin and Cohen Walker Dr. may be open but I have to check with MGTC Security to ensure it is. If you enter the west entrance, just stay on the main road on MGTC grounds for about 1/4 mile until you see the CGC Banner and the pavilion.
We hope to see all the familiar faces that have made this club fun and enjoyable to be part of as well as new faces that will help our club grow. Please contact me by e-mail or phone if I can answer any questions, need directions, or if you have suggestions for the meeting.
