CGC rides Cycling Ahead Century
You've got to support the local events folks! This was the first year of the Cycling Ahead Metric Century put on by Bruce Radcliffe in an effort to raise money and awareness for the National Brain Tumor Foundation. Bruce's sister Michelle and brother Tony were both diagnosed having brain tumors in the last few years, and both are doing better after having surgery and treatments. However, Tony nor Michelle have been able to return to work.
Central Georgia Cyclist club members showed up in force to support Bruce and his efforts Sept. 30 at the Ocmulgee National Monument. Bruce and everyone that helped him did an outstanding job organizing this event, and had great SAG stops and SAG vehicles taking care of us along the way. In all, there were 13 riders from our local group (nearly 1/3 or the total riders) and enjoyed the beautiful weather and good roads the ride covered. Most of us rode the 26 mile loop while others went on the 62 mile option.

Don celebrating another beautiful day riding with his flock.
We even took a minor detour to check out the Griswoldville Battlefield. Don and I have passed this same site during our legendary ride with Chad earlier in the year.
